Many community leaders and organizational Representatives interested in the youth of San Benito County, gathered at San Juan Oaks, May 1, 2003 for a presentation of a strategic planning model. Inspired and energized the participants formed a leadership team to take the next steps toward coordinating and assisting in the development of community resources for youth and their families. 
Sixty members of the community came together to hear about the Development Assets and to share information toward achievement of the goals and objectives of the Leadership Team’s Strategic Plan:
Ø
Perform a comparative
assessment of community needsand existing programs and resources.
Ø
Work toward a shared vision of comprehensive, assetbuilding services for youth and families.
Ø
Seek maximum resources and funding throughcollaboration of community program providers.
